We don’t think there’s much to add about Lyapis if you have been a follower of the musical adventcalendar – after all, the probably most famous belarusian band was part of our adventcalendar almost every year. On top of that, Lyapis also won the voting with their song Princess in 2012. With today’s goodie we’re also paying homage to them: Lyapis dissolved this year after 25 years.
Known for their politically critical as well as crazy videos and lyrics, the versatile musicians of Lyapis were at home in many musical genres. Surprising, colourful, loud and quiet – they could play (almost) anything. Listen for yourself once again with which power Lyapis performed and unrolled their pictorial vocabulary. In fact, what Lyapis sings about in “Warriors of light” isn’t any sort of phantasy anymore – those sorts of scenes could be observed in a neighboring country to Belarus in 2014.
