Welcome to Musikadventskalender 2014!

This post is also available in German Polish Czech Belarusian

Dear Internaut-Ladies and Internaut-Gentlemen,

everything changes but the MAK remains. Our sixth issue of the ‘Musikadventskalender’ is ready to be opened up by you come midnight of December 1st.

This pre-Christmas musical journey is based on the old protestant tradition of the advent calendar originating from German-speaking territories in the 19th century. However, behind our (digital) calendar “windows” you won’t find chocolate but rather musical goodies from Belarus, Czech Republic, Germany and Poland which represent the domain of ‘GFPS’ (Association for Scholarly Exchange with Central and Eastern Europe or “Gemeinschaft für studentischen Austausch in Mittel- und Osteuropa e. V.”).

As in prior years, we’ll serve you a musical goodie every day from December 1st until Christmas Eve. We’ll not only present you a video by a band of one of the four GFPS member countries but also an introduction to the band and the song as well as its text. Actually, for the first time we will try to present the songs in all of the four GFPS languages as well as in English. Thanks to our crew in Hamburg we re-launched our website with a new layout and more functionality.

Likewise we are also on facebook now, offering another opportunity to comment on our posts and thereby taking part in this project. As always, we will also be a giving away a prize amongst the participants of the voting for the favorite musical goodie. The voting will start on Christmas Day and we’ll present you the results in a chart show on January 6th 2015.

This year’s mix will surprise you with all sorts of styles of music and stunning videos – and it’s more up-to-date than ever before. We hope that you like some of our goodies and we wish all of you a contemplative advent!

Yours,

Team of the GFPS-Musikadventskalender
